Our journey began in 2020 with a vision to help companies worldwide design and operate efficient waste and recycling collection systems. We started as a digital technology company, Waste Labs, developing data-driven and AI-powered products that are now utilised by leading producers and recyclers across Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Throughout this journey, we identified a significant challenge in consumer product recycling: up to 80% of used goods end up in waste bins due to limited recycling options. This represents $2.6 trillion worth of materials in fast-moving consumer goods being discarded and lost forever.

In 2023, we launched Black Square to revolutionise post-consumer recycling and unlock the full potential of recycled materials.
